What the ceremony includes
A civil ceremony requires at least two witnesses. The couple exchange the required legal words and sign a marriage schedule with the witnesses and registrar.
Readings, songs and music can be included, but GOV.UK states that they must not be religious. Discuss personal wording with the registrar before printing an order of ceremony.
Do not assume rings, a particular entrance, photographs inside the room or extra readings are automatically allowed. Local policies and appointment lengths differ.
