Research Methodology

Weddings Hub uses linked public sources, official guidance and clearly identified third-party research.

Statistics

Each material statistic should name its source, date, geography and sample where those details are available.

Official UK data is preferred for legal, demographic and registration questions. Commercial surveys are described as platform research, not national fact.

First-party research

We do not currently operate a standing survey panel or proprietary retailer-tracking service.

Older articles may contain first-party wording without an accessible dataset. We are reviewing those claims and removing unsupported figures.

Interviews and anecdotes

Named interviews require a record of consent. Anonymous online accounts are examples, not representative survey evidence.

How an Article Is Checked

  1. Identify every figure, quotation and legal statement that needs support.
  2. Open the cited source and check that it says what the draft claims.
  3. Record the publication date, geography and important sample limits.
  4. Separate reported opinion from measured evidence.
  5. Remove claims that cannot be supported or explained.

Dates and Updates

A page receives a new modification date only after substantive work. We do not change dates simply to make older advice look current.

When evidence changes, the article should explain the newer source and remove figures that no longer describe the relevant period.

Search-engine visibility or repeated online quotation does not make an unsupported figure reliable.

Source links should point to the publication used, not a search-results page.

Corrections

Email editor@weddingshub.co.uk with the page URL, disputed wording and supporting evidence.

We review specific correction requests and update confirmed errors. The editorial policy explains how commercial work remains separate.
